Seen this in the presence of Oliver Stone at Cineflagey.
Damn, that was bad. I’m sure Bob Marley is a good guy, but his life story turned out to be a dreadful and predictable plot.
(OK, the music was good, but could have played the guy on Spotify for that.)
The beginning was a bit too slow to my taste, but this ended up being a phenomenal movie. It grapples with the themes of depression and loneliness in a devastating way. And the performances by — in particular — Andrew Scott (Jim Moriarty in the tv show Sherlock) and Claire Foy (Queen Elizabeth in the first seasons of The Crown) are brilliant.
Wonder whether I will see a better movie in 2024.
For some reason, this film feels like a strange combination of The Theory of Everything and Oppenheimer.
