This was my first Studio Ghibli film and wow I’m obsessed. I want to exist inside the lush, green and gorgeous hand painted world that Miyazaki created. Felt like childhood

Saltburn 2023
Saltburn felt like a rendition of The Talented Mr Ripley but where the protagonist isn’t charming at all. It was extremely well done: the cinematography was mesmerising and textured while the editing was rhythmic and sharp. You could tell how intentional every detail was. I loved the depiction of English luxury and the warm summer light that illuminated the countryside. Of course some scenes were pretty graphic but I actually think they are a testament to how talented Barry Keoghan is. He carried the film and it certainly would’ve had a different outcome if someone else was cast as Oliver
