Everything is so so perfect. From how she starts narrating it as a fairy tale, to how her name means "truth" in Greek, to all the flashbacks and the stories.
Though I do agree with some comments that what happened after they left the hotel feels a bit fast paced and patched together at the last minute, it was truly an enjoyable movie and I can't wait to get all my friends to watch it with me🤭

I love the contrast between how people process abuse differently, grieving, relapsing, and how some women can't break free of generations of abuse, while others don't even realise that they are in them.
It was crude and real and in the end all you are left with is "wow everybody here was an asshole", there are no "good guys" or "bad guys", every character is fundamentally human and flawed.
Most of all I like that Alex is not just a mother, she has passions and dreams of her own and she didn't give them up for Maddy.Translated from by
