Wow. A mainstream movie largely based on my favorite video game of all time, Sonic Adventure 2. I can't believe it! How can a movie be faithful to the video games and be packed full of niche references, all while remaining mainstream and digestible for the kids? It's the perfect balance that every video game fandom dreams of, yet I'd argue that only this Sonic trilogy has been able to fully pull it off

Portland Polycule: The Movie
Jk. It was cool to finally rewatch Rocky Horror, the last time I watched it was in middle school at the beach during a black out thunderstorm (definitely scared me a bit). It's cool that this movie has such a cult following and that its costume designs have been so influential to the alt, punk, & queer scenes (it doesn't feel 50 years old at all). It's also crazy to think that it technically hasn't left theaters since it came out. Speaking of which, I should go watch it live at the Clinton theater sometime

Went in without watching any trailers or knowing anything about the movie, came out a changed person (well technically the same person if you know what I mean). Absolutely perfect balance of horror, humor, commentary, and camp. Visually bold and a mix of both different glam periods in aesthetic and horror film periods in storytelling. In terms of pacing there are zero moments when the audience can space out or get comfortable, yet there are few characters and the story…
