Sort of all over the place. It never really finds its footing, tone-wise. The whole thing seemed half baked, built on the premise of “what if there were alien apartheid,” and then turns into a sci-fi unlikely-buddies movie.
The mishmash of cinematography styles from found footage, Office style talking head interviews, point of view cams, etc. didn’t do it for me.

A thrilling and very unsettling experience, sure to make every freshly minted “intellectual atheist” college student’s pants tight. Escalating tension throughout was well executed, but I don’t think they really stuck the landing.

Completely immersive every frame.
A sense of complete dread and anxiety that we share with Blunt’s character. Made me want to pick smoking back up too.
A conflict/intersection of justice vs vengeance vs utilitarianism (Blunt, DT, Brolin).
Amazing pacing, score, cinematography, all executed basically flawlessly.
Not sure there’s much philosophical meat on the bone, but maybe that’s part of the point, or rather, it doesn’t need any, just a fantastic tense high intensity thrill ride.
Highlight scenes: boarder crossing, tunnel, dinner, Brolin talking to Blunt after the briefing room empties when he’s serious for I think the first time without the “levity” he adds everywhere else

Absolutely over the top in every way, in a great way.
Completely disgusting, amazing cinematography, great score, compelling theme.
My one gripe: they couldn’t set up a goddamn couch for the other self to lay on the whole week?
