This movie is not what I expected it to be in a lot of ways but it’s really good for what it is. The movie is honestly kind of meh until the final act, but that final act almost completely atones for that with how satisfying it is to watch.

This surprisingly seriously moved me... I thought this would just be a regular romance movie and I’m usually not a big fan of those.
Don’t get me wrong, it very much is a romantic movie, but it’s also a deep dive into what it means to be a first-generation immigrant, bilingualism and cultural barriers in relationships.
