Wicked is a lot like the wizard, cheap theatrics and showmanship empty of any actual potency. Musical theater is just offensive as a medium because it's so good at utterly wasting talent. It's remarkable how consistently the entire format manages to be less than the sum of its parts. Cynthia and Ariana are both fantastic vocalists (especially Cynthia), but the music they're performing is so by-the-numbers bland. Kanal 1957
A mixed bag. The first 3rd, the part before the sewer, is uneven. There's a few good scenes and a lot of slow, wooden ones that don't work well to establish sympathy for the characters. The descent into the sewer marks a sharp shift in tone and a touch of the surrealism I expect from eastern Europe appears. It's a lot more good than bad but I expected Ashes and Diamonds and it just didn't live up to that with the subpar opening and lack of a charismatic lead character like Zbigniew Cybulski was in that movie.

Daddy Daughter Trip 2022
I feel like I have to say something nice because I shook Rob Schneider's hand before the movie so uhhh... A lot of the theater laughed during the ten-minute long fart joke.

Stigmata 1999
Guys, this movie is amazing and you need to stop trashing it. Of course, if you go into it expecting a (semi) serious religious drama like 'The Exorcist', 'The Devils', 'Rosemary's Baby's, or even say 'The Omen', it'll disappoint you, but it's an awesome stream of music-video imagery and overblown (questionable) 90s style. Recommended for fans of Paul W.S. Anderson, Simon West, Tony Scott, and Michael Bay. Plotbabbys beware.
