I agree Mikey Madison gave a fabulous performance so I totally get the praise. However I felt a bit bored as this plodded along and although the goons are enjoyable, Ani just frustrates me in the middle because of how naive she is chasing after Ivan.
The final scene saves it for me, totally cracking her character open. If anything it makes her naivety throughout seem like an act and it really had me thinking about how she presents herself…
Daniel Day-Lewis certainly doesn’t need to settle down a bit Alma. A stunning and uncomfortable juggling of power.
Kind of polishing a bad movie here. Also because the first film has plot devises that were intended for the second film it ends up doubling them. Spinning around the earth to reverse time still doesn't work.

I was sad to say I didn't like it as I left the cinema. Before I went, I predicted that this story needed to be told for a reason. Alas no, we learned close to nothing new. The plot plays out exactly as expected, we gained nothing really from having watched it.
I thought we might be surprised by maybe having a character survive the inevitable retcon, but as though they realise in the final moments that they didn't want…
