Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace 1999

The Phantom Menace has great visuals but can feel slow and a bit boring at times. However, the final act makes up for it with intense battles, from the lightsaber duel with Darth Maul to the large-scale fights on Naboo. The action in the finale was the film’s strongest point, but the buildup wasn’t super engaging. Decent overall, but not the most exciting Star Wars film.

I’ve heard great things about this movie, and it certainly lived up to my expectations. This is definitely one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen. Jim Carrey delivers an outstanding performance as Truman Burbank! The ending was really powerful, and Truman realizing his whole life is a lie was both heartbreaking and inspiring in a way. This is an amazing movie, and really made me think afterwards.
