  I cannot get over how good the artwork, sound design, and music fit so perfectly together. Also making the villain into what he is was just so incredibly well executed

  This movie is phenomenal. I've wanted to watch it ever since laying eyes on the poster, by far one of the most simple yet outstanding movie posters I've ever seen. Without fail, from an audio/visual standpoint, Akira is a gold standard. The world-building of Neo-Tokyo is done incredibly well; a post-war society that faces constant rebellion, gang violence, and corruption in the need of rebirth over and over.

  I honestly need to watch this again to really grasp the complexity…

  Very simple movie, fun to watch, but that's about it. I really like the overkill of references and cameos (like how did they get to use Star Wars and Marvel music???). Ryan Reynolds is pretty.
