  will be rewatching this one at a least a few more times just to fully absorb it. this is the first movie i’ve seen about transness made for trans people. its biggest success is communicating how it felt growing up trans and unconsciously repressing your identity, being dissociated and afraid of yourself. the really awkward neurodivergent dialogue between owen and maddy feels so accurate to my experience early in my teens. owen’s conversations with his parents especially stuck out to me…
