  At the last 16 minutes (including credits) I paused and went to complain to my partner that I was scared I wasn't going to get a happy ending and how dare they because I was promised romance. Holy fuck. How did they manage a perfect ending in 10 minutes. I'm floored. I get it now when Jem told me that there shouldn't be any romance films after this. Holy fucking fuck.

  This could quite possibly be my favorite horror movie. It was tragic, beautiful, romantic, and still managed to remain, indisputably, a horror film. It all felt very delicate and purposeful. I cannot recommend Kuroneko enough.

  I watched the color version and wow it really is a Christmas classic that shakes you aggressively back and forth. But it's so very worthwhile and I'm glad I watched it.
