  Like the concepts they're exploring, don't particularly care for what they have to say about them. Was funny sometimes. I don't know, barely have strong enough feelings to write this.

  Many movies say nothing. This movie says something and doesn't mince any words or moments about it. It's the only movie I've seen where performance has no bearing on my feelings about the film. The characters are one dimensional and the dialogue is mush, but it doesn't matter, the film feels like a prophecy from 1988 that we have been doomed to live out in the present. Told through the medium of an 80's sci-fi action film. Payoff exponential for time and emotions invested, highly recommend.

  I'm re-watching it for the fourth time now, it's lovely and when I think a thing is lovely I don't give a very detailed review because I don't want to spoil it but please watch. It's less than 3 hours in total, self-contained, perfect content for a rainy day ❤️

  This movie didn't need to exist, Joaquin Phoenix's performance is great, this movie did not need to exist. I don't know if any movie really needs to exist, but this movie really didn't need to exist. Why we got to portray the mentally ill this way? It's ham-handed.
