Successfully captures the moral ambiguity that comes with reporting on atrocities. Tragedies get views, so in a capitalist society driven by profits, there is a benefit to horrible things happening in the world. At the end of the movie, we reel along with Jeff at the fact that 11 people died and he ended up with a promotion.
The first person perspective was a little disconcerting but the storyline was tragic and extremely moving.
Wish I could say I got this movie but left the theater feeling more appalled than intrigued and more confused than thoughtful. I thought many of the plot holes that may have been intended to be thought provoking were actually just frustrating and poorly executed. Overall it was a miss for me.
Really great, but I hated that I was rooting for Tom the whole movie. Crushing final scene… felt like call me by your name but so much darker.
