Saltburn 2023
Astonishing from an aesthetics point of view, interesting editing style and a great performance from the cast, make Saltburn worth the watch. However, don’t get your hopes up too high for the scenario. Fennell misses her chance on redemption for a chaotic plot and a bunch of unnecessary uncomfortable scenes, with an underwhelming payoff degrading the film to a Parasite 2.0 but with a lot less soul. But oh well, about the acting, apart from the obvious ones, the performances of Alison Oliver and Archie Madekwe (the guy who’s role in Midsommar consisted of yelling “you’re f*cked!” and becoming a flower pot”) particularly stand out.
