The moody cinematography, acting, grotesquerie, & scoring was art. I was simultaneously scared, disgusted, & admittedly aroused at some points. Gothic horror with a strong dose of the darkest eroticism. As a melancholy romantic with an affinity towards the darker things & occult, this delivered. The utter insanity & borderline possession spooked me but there was still an unsettling air of dreaminess.
