I might renegotiate my rating, I’m still wrestling as to if I enjoyed the film or not. Gorgeous lighting and cinematography and music and inspired casting, yes. Delon absolutely carries the film. I do think though that it kind of chickens out into a moralizing perspective in the last act. It’s a great film, but I think if it had been confident in having less obvious retribution at the end it would have been better.
