  pinhead was much more interesting before we knew his backstory. still wanted to like this movie despite but it just ended up being too fan-servicey and lore-heavy. idk i feel like it's hard to recreate what made the original slecial

  All the separate conflicts set up throughout the entire movie are not resolved. Example: Mother-Daughter bond undergoing strain? Nah, let's just forget about the fact that we panned over their faces the first 2/3s of the movie. The authentic family dynamic acting was totally dropped when the two cops start talking to each other like robots in a stage play. Don't get me wrong, I liked the cop characters, but they belong in a different movie. Anything taking place outside of the main house could be dropped.
