I really wanted to like this but Theodore was thinking about himself way too much and a copious amount of his sentences started with “I feel” I didn’t actually care what he felt to be honest. Now I Feel a bit bad but it was trying too hard to be profound and I just Felt nothing. Lost in Translation effortlessly captured that same feeling of alienation and loneliness with very little dialogue and even with many parallels this film did not share a fraction of that subtlety
