The Boston Strangler is a solid true crime thriller featuring another solid performance by Keira Knightly. If I knew this historical story better, however, I’m not sure I would have been particularly keen on the execution of this drama that doesn’t feel particularly surprising even if it’s competent and compelling enough for one viewing. Also, it feels like one of the least Bostonesque movies purporting to be set in Boston.

Maybe the studios should just stop remaking movies. This one isn’t quite so unwatchable as some critiques have stated, but it’s also an unnecessary reboot despite inexplicably making more sense than the original and yet still not making any sense. But Prague looks worth visiting :)

This new Godzilla movie would pair better with Oppenheimer than Barbie. Beware the Oppenzilla!

I will add my vote to the popular boast that this may be the best Godzilla movie since the 1954 original. Director Yamazaki shrewdly serves up a human story we can actually care about and root for in this back to Godzilla basics plot. And because we care we are invested to see our heroes vanquish this menacing monster. However, it wouldn’t be a good monster…

This isn’t the best “Cambodian movie,” but it may be my sentimental favorite. This is entirely because of the tigers. I’m baffled how Director Annaud was able to tell this story so well using live tigers as the main protagonists. The human story isn’t bad either, but it’s nothing special without the twin special effects of two living, breathing tigers as the main focus.
