    1/3 perfect, 1/3 great, 1/3 a boring slog.

Some glimmers of Coen brilliance, but overall mid-tier in their catalog.

Still, one of Nic Cage's best!

First time rewatching in over five years. Clockwork was once my favorite movie, but now I can't help but feel detached from its characters, premise and pacing. Still a great film, with some truly iconic shots/sequences/music choices. Just not the masterpiece I remembered it to be.

    Impenetrable, spellbinding, hilarious, terrifying, eternal.

Mulholland Drive has occupied a permanent space in my mind since my first viewing 6 months ago. 6 months was the longest I could force myself to wait before rewatching this movie. And I'm sure I'll see it again in another 6.

Mulholland Drive, like another favorite "Synechdoche, New York", seems to be infinitely rewatchable. There is so much to be pulled out of this movie, and so much to pull you in. Eraserhead still stands as my favorite Lynch endeavor, but this opinion may change on my third watch.

Second viewing: moved from 4 to 5 stars.

Expected the worst, got the best. Surprisingly well-shot, well-acted, and well-paced. Color grading was classic "we're in Mexico", but worked perfectly. Jack Black is at his most charismatic and least annoying here. Honestly a truly fun movie to watch with friends. 5/5 for a "kids movie", but netting a 3.5/5 overall.
