Mickey 17 2025
Slow, at times, this is another film that comments on social inequality but also dives into the more existential realms. It's less comedic than the trailers suggest which I imagine will hurt its fan reviews. Pattinson is dynamite. The single actor playing two people in the same room is as well done as I've ever seen. You genuinely feel like you're watching two different actors play off each other. Don't think it needed the 10 minute epilogue, but overall this is another solid effort from Bong Joon-ho.

Like most "based on a real person" movies, the tension it works so hard to build up is undercut by the fact that we know they lived, because otherwise they wouldn't have made a movie! Which is a real shame because this story would otherwise be incredibly captivating.
