The Brutalist 2024
The library redesign, the cuts to wealthy signals during monologues, the score, the shot of the Statue of Liberty, the suiting specifically Adrien Brody in a slick tailored rain trench (??).. great. Definitely a long, male movie but one of the better ones. Sexual violence doesn’t need to be depicted to carry weight though and it felt postured and unnecessary!! The ending also pulled me out of the larger feeling. Would have preferred a quieter, more ambiguous ending
