this film has engulfed my life for the past few days. i would wake up excited to watch the next part and spend the rest of the day thinking about it, talking anyone's ear off that would listen. i split my viewings into 4 parts, Rust I & II, Remnants, and Rails. Rust immediately caught my interest and i knew i had to watch all 9 hours. West of the Tracks could be a daunting task for some.…

the year is 1995, saturday night. i'm at my friend's house. we're 15 years old. his basement is lined with wood panel walls. there's red shag carpet under my feet.
"this came from Japan you said?"
"yeah dude my older brother showed me this."
"i'm not gonna have to read subtitles am i?

my mom just had surgery back home and i wish i could be there with her. she's alright but its just one of those things you gotta deal with when you move away from home
