Magnolia is the definition of a comfort movie. It digs deep in your psyche through its relatable cast and a viscerally chaotic plotline reminicent of everyday life; however, unlike our day to day lives PTA shows us the beauty, poetry, and hope that exists in life experiences both absurd and pedestrian.
I particularly love the scene in which Jimmy falls during the game show as Stanley pees in his pants. It's a beautiful scene that encapsulates a lifespan with opressive adults on the one end and mortality at the other.
