Have I not delved into art cinema deep enough yet - the answer is definitely no cos I found myself not enjoying this as much as every person out there who has watched this…

I'm Still Here 2024
This was outstanding in every possible way 🥲. Tender, crushing, persevering, honest… every scene was packed with the right volume of life’s essence and substance that I couldn’t help but cry at almost every major display of emotions - be it positive or negative. It was so reassuring to see and be reminded of the warmth of family life in South America and on the opposite end, the many tragedies that still affect its people to this day.
Everything was perfectly crafted. Wish we had the chance to catch this sooner.

Snowpiercer meets Okja.
Too on the nose… Full of cliche tropes and kind of jarring exaggerations but rob really kills it in his performance- defo the best part of it all.I really didn’t like the graphic animal scenes (yes i know they’re cgi) I absolutely couldn’t handle it. Just felt a bit unnecessary but I can admit I’m extra sensitive to these things.
Looking forward to Bong’s next Korean project bc I can’t lie I’m not a fan of his English ones🥲

Black Swan 2010
Holy fuck.
This is exactly what I expected from Darren Aronofsky. Disturbing and panic-inducing but oh so damn engaging. He really knows how to get REAL personal with the audience simply by using a camera. Watching his movies, I always either feel like the protagonist is literally on my face or I'm the one invading their personal space. I feel almost in tune with the character's every emotion to the point of suffocation. I cannot express how much I love…
