  A lot of respect for Eggers’ vision with this film, there is clearly a lot of love for the source material. I really liked his decision to make Count Orlok look like some sort of undead Cossack chieftain.

  Beautiful and sentimental. It’s incredibly impressive how Wim Wenders, a German filmmaker, is able to so beautifully capture the American southwest and create such a distinctly American feeling film. The rawness of this film made it feel, at many times, like I was watching a documentary instead of a movie. Harry Dean Stanton and Natassja Kinski both give monumental performances by embodying their respective roles of the two deeply flawed lovers torn apart. This is a remarkable film, pure kino.
