This movie did to brutalism what profit-obsessed society in the 70s did to architecture.

That being said, the story itself is enjoyable, as well as an intriguing parallel between the building's construction and the protagonist's life. All in all, it's all about a complex love story in the years following WWII, in a society that rapidly loses its "american dream" lavishness to reveal a rotten core.
Would have enjoyed it more if the spicier scenes would have been more relevant…

Cathartic. I really should have seen this movie a year ago, it would have helped.

    — That little girl did exist. She's not sitting here in front of you... but it doesn't mean she's not real. Twenty years ago, I left her behind with you.

Now I get it why people in their midlife crisis love to watch old movies.

I finally get all the references, I see how many movies I looked at in awe are actually inspired by this masterpiece.

In less than 2 hours, I cried, I had my brain dismantled and reassembled, I thought about the historical references, I appreciated the role of this movie in its era and in its future.

Plus, the movie is still astonishingly enjoyable and relevant today.
