  Hooptober 14/31!
  Unfortunately not as good as what I was hoping for! I definitely don’t think it was bad but it was very slow up until the last half hour or so. The pace started to pick up and I did begin to enjoy it towards the end, despite some of the weird scenes I didn’t quite get. I can understand why some people think this movie is amazing but it just wasn’t quite on that level for me, although I did love the use of sound and the acting (especially the way Willem Dafoe spoke!)

  First movie of hooptober! I liked most of the characters and pacing throughout - I didn’t think it dragged at any point and it built up suspense to when the cannibals first kill some of the family. I also liked how the music at the beginning had the noise of all the teeth and junk the cannibals have hanging off them clattering together, even before they’re revealed. I was not a fan of Doug at first but he definitely grew on me. Enjoyed it!
