The fact that this ended with a song i used to listen to when i was about Jamie's age (and the best song they could've chosen for the context, really), leaving my own childhood and dealing with the painful mess that is the dawn of adolescence, was the bittersweet cherry on top of this amazingly simply and raw told story. What really piqued my interest after the first few minutes was a filming style i don't think i ever saw…

Gone with the Wind 1939
Holy fuck, what a story. Holy fuck, phenomenal cinematography. And for 1939??? Are you kidding me?? Shadow paly, sunset shots, incredible acting and casting. I had to watch this in 3 sits in total, but oh my, was it worth it. Incredible film. Definetely a milestone in cinema history. Playing Melanie without making her irritating is a feat that takes true talent. Loved Melly. Mammy fan forever!!! Honorable mention: Prissy's screeches, Ashley's quote on Melanie, Dr Meade's patience, horse that died on the way to Tara, Big Sam.
