An Agatha Christie classic set in Venice, the story does not disappoint, neither do Kenneth Branagh.
The scenery, and especially the Venice Villa felt very authentic. Photography did at times disappoint when the retro technique of freehand filming was used in order to give the appearance of viewing a firsthand perspective. This simply does not work and appears flimsy.
The acting crew was excellent except for Tina Fey who surprisingly underperforms.
Overall a very entertaining movie telling a well known story. Mr. Branagh, keep bringing Monsieur Poirot to life!
A very important and well made movie, free from the ordinary extravaganza. The story, exceptional actors and scenery makes this important story well told.
Much better than contemporary films, with a subject of great importance. Too bad Hollywood didn’t want to produce it.
Not knowing what to expect, this movie superseded my expectations by a lot!
With a plot/storyline that was easy to track, deeper and more thought through today’s generic shallow stories, or politically correct Disney remakes.
The scenography and photo was exceptional and the scenery supported the story, both in the dystopian Stalinist architecture in the establishment filled Capital as well as in the rural areas in the Districts.
At times, the movie felt like a contemporary documentary however, a clear portrayal of oppressive socialism and fascism in the Capital versus hardworking people in the flyover country.
Great entertainment that is rarely seen nowadays!
Although credible initial scenario, watching a hysterical and racist Democrat Karen mm and a spoiled racist brat becomes hard to take because of their biased worldview that is hard to follow. Very poor and, as it felt, rushed ending.
