If you’re not committed to the Hunger Games ~verse~ then this movie will be a really enjoyable stand alone hunger games movie with fun Easter eggs. As a movie, it’s a precursors for the future films setting the tone for both the fashion and the dark nature of the hunger games themselves. There are fun Easter eggs here and there but I find myself less attached to characters.
