this film gave me a boner with a capital O
sleuths across the internet try to decipher the mysteries of this film. while plotlines reveal themes, adhering to a coherent narrative just doesn't seem v hairline dave.
i went to watch MHD with my folks in the cinema the week after he passed. our interpretations all differed from when we'd last watched it and from each other. that's the beauty of the dream, doesn't have to make 'sense' for it mean something immense.

i feel for whoever dates sophie thatcher-you'll never really be sure. early oscar contender performance and hopefully a familiar face on films to come.
every question the film asks about the future is also an allegory for the now.
felt like a ghibli but without the pretty drawings. not a long film but it felt like one. i found it difficult to get swept away with the story and i think this is largely because the opening dialogue/plot felt unnatural and crowbarred.
despite this, almodoVAR leaves you pondering the questions the story seems to be asking and is still worth a watch if you enjoy julliane moore performances as much as i do.
