Most of Mike Flanagan's work has some sort of reflection on death, be it accepting it in HILL HOUSE, finding comfort it in in MIDNIGHT MASS, struggling against it in HOUSE OF USHER, and so on. If HUSH is said to fit into that pattern, it is a reflection on our animal fight-or-flight response in the face of it, and how we has human beings process it in the face of the senseless.
A tight little thriller. Edge of your seat stuff. Loved it.
