The Last Showgirl 2024
This feels like a film that will stay with me. A melancholic, moving story of resilience, consequences, and what it means to follow your passion in a society where ageing women are devalued, discarded and incessantly ridiculed for their choices. Jamie Lee Curtis is particularly sensational (when is she not). Anderson is endearing and authentic. Combined with the rhinestones, sequins and feathers, this is visually and emotionally striking - I couldn't look away.
