Incredible exploration of identity and beautiful animation sets the film apart. This movie could have easily been made today and it would still be photorealistically stunning. Also, plot so simple it would be a good mock trial case in chief, which is overall a good thing.

Fantastic premise and beginning to the movie. The themes are strong very early on and are even developed well initially. Jim Carrey is fantastic as Truman. He's whimsical and lighthearted, making it perfect when he morphs those traits into spontaneity once he finally escapes from the show. Biggest issues for me come up towards the middle/end of the film. It loses sight of the characters' internal beliefs to really drive the themes home. Maybe I'm just a dumbass who zoned…
