It felt as if they said (which I wonder if they did when they wrote the comic(s) too) let's take the less popular/least known Batman villains and spin them off into a separate comic. Jared Leto's Joker was hardly in the movie and when he was in flashbacks. The whole idea of stopping some godlike worse villain felt a lot The Avengers. Oh and why is The Joker a gangster?
I (re-)watched this last night. Sadly I thought the same thing as the first time time I saw it: there are some good moments but its like the character is supposed to be a homosexual of Israeli background.
Its sad that most people wouldn't know who Ed Wood is/was had certain movies become cult following movies such is the case with Ed's movies. What I love about the Ed Wood is though his movies were financially/critically acclaimed he still made them because he enjoyed the art and did what he loved.
Jim Carrey's first venture into the dramatics and he did not disappoint.
