This was one of my first chamber films. The story did what it needed to do because 3/4 in I was infuriated by this man. Was so annoyed, that I had to stop watching.
Didn't like this at all. The sexually active but has the brain of a toddler concept grossed me out. Couldn't finish.
First time ever watching these actors, and it was phenomenal. The color palette had so much harmony that it had me in awe and the camera angles were fresh. The way it shut out the outside world made you get into the head space and lose track of time alongside Hal. This added so much intimacy and personalization. It was a wild ride while watching. Thinking about the movie after watching, I think it's a bummer. Ending was unsatisfactory. The viewer is left with so many loose ends after following a human experience that is complex, uncomfortable, and yearns for closure: relationships. Besides that, the teasing and the push-pull dynamic between Art and Patrick is so delightful and fulfilling holy crap. The whole churro scene was decadently playful.
