Hello Kitty in Alice in Wonderland 1993
This Alice might be the silliest one yet, but I love her. This retelling borrows directly from Disney’s 1951 version in terms of aesthetic vision and colouring. I’m not a huge fan of the design of the human characters, but this is still a fun adaptation nonetheless.
Bonus half a point for the nostalgia factor of 90’s Hello Kitty (although Hello Kitty in the Sleeping Princess will always be the elite film) and for the fact that Alice breaks down the justice system.

This is the highest rated Alice adaptation on Letterboxd, and I completely understand why. Surreal, grotesque, and abnormal, Švankmajer’s blend of live action and stop motion puppets is a charmingly strange interpretation of the original book.
So many clever little details; a mushroom doorknob, the sock puppet caterpillar yarning his eyes over to rest, and pin cushion hedgehogs in the scene of croquet. This is such a playful rendition of the children’s tale that definitely deserves a rewatch!
