I enjoyed the visuals of this film and the acting, especially seeing Margot robbie in a role a bit different to what she normally plays, and it was very compelling.
But, this movie also felt so blatantly feminist-ally-no-makeup-girl-boss-queen, but kinda artifical. And the pacing was also pretty slow, but historical films often are especially set in scotland.
I don't know how accurate this is to the real story, but I was entertained for an evening.
Genuinely one of the worst movies I've watched in so long, but I enjoyed cringing at it
Very 90s but also the black queer magic creative process overpowers the 'funky' graphics and transitions of its time.
I loved how many different types of lesbians there were, and showing divisiveness within the community.
I think this movie might work even better now than it did when it came out, because we feel like the main character's search for the 1930s film star is similar to our own modern curiosity on this 1990s gay film maker. Intergenerational knowledge 🤩🤩🤩🤩
