    Adored - could’ve watched 2 hours longer with ease

    I thought Pattinson looked ropey in the first third but once again proved why he’s the best actor of the last 5-6 years with another masterclass. The ‘on the nose’ themes were obviously good and appropriate and easy etc but I’m certain there are many more that I’m just failing to grasp on one watch (the button for example, it HAS to mean something bigger). All round great watch, very entertaining, great cast, great ideas. Nice!

    Yeah did a pretty perfect job of satisfying the original but also making sense and a story of it - it added so much more flesh to the story which was really quite impressive. Loved all the actors too (when I thought I wouldn’t going into it)

    The absolute only thing I have to say about this is that considering just how anticipated this was and how this was what he’s worked towards for so many years I would’ve liked…

    Stalking Eggers’ page brought me to this

    It’s quite obvious that it’s his first piece of work, but even for a first it’s kinda impressive - the production (set design, costume design and makeup etc) in particular. It was eerie, the score was spooky, it kinda gave you whatever you’d expect from a directors first piece (that’s also a short black n white silent movie) - not disappointed at all

    One of my biggest worries going into this was that Eggers was gonna substitute the elements of his movies that make them his movies for something more mainstream / appealing to a larger audience - but thank fuck this wasn’t the case
