Porternomix’s review published on Letterboxd:
It’s stylish and fun, darkly hilarious and powerful all at once. It presents a bit like an NC-17 Pretty Woman at first, but Mikey Madison’s incredible range as the lead actress powers this 2-hour film, culminating with a final two minutes that I think are at the soul of the film—the dichotomy between transient sex and genuine connection. The film explores both throughout, and it’s brought to life by Madison in a palpable and palatable way. She’s smokin’ hot, rude, hilarious, authentic, fun, romantic and more. I wasn’t sure what to think 30 minutes in, (I was enjoying it, but the Oscar buzz seemed misplaced) but the film takes a distinct right turn into something more; something that explains how it could catapult to the top of the Oscars list. The chasm from the beginning of the film to its conclusion worked somehow seamlessly and the comic relief of Karagulian and Tovmasyan was as pleasant as it was necessary. Great film. 9/10
(Yes I’d watch again, but not immediately)
