Some fun moments, like the woman approaching the car, but ultimately not all that compelling. Some plot threads, like the boy recording them putting the body in the freezer, felt like unnecessary diversions.
For a guy that was so focused on leaving, Funes sure did wander to each and every house to tell the person inside that he was going. Kind of a surreal component with the researchers not being concerned about harm at all. Clearly they knew the ghosts were dangerous, so why were they so unbothered? Strange.

A movie that I could see sticking with me for a while.
It starts with a captivating courtroom theme, revealing eventually that the focus is on the murder, yes, but also two women obsessed with the trial. One convinced that the accused is innocent, the other with unclear intentions. Her intentions are never particularly clear throughout the movie, as she indulges in self-destructive and illegal actions, sabotaging her own life.
Does she dress up as the murdered in the courtroom…

Sometimes I feel like I lack any sort of artistic appreciation at all. This was one of those times. Although I will say, it is the first time I've seen an elephant funeral on film.
The imagery was interesting at moments, and I enjoyed the scenes where Fenix is acting as his mother's arms—it's an improv bit I'll always enjoy, although it will always come off as at least a bit silly.

The Day of the Triffids 1963
All over the place with two disaster scenarios that never really interact in a meaningful way and two disjoint sets of characters that never interact in any way. Very haphazard pacing and occurrence of events. It was interesting to see some plot points that seemed to serve as inspiration for other movies (28 Days Later and The Quiet Place) though.
