The slow-paced and poetic style is what I imagine a landscape painting would be like if it came to life. At times it was a bit slow which made difficult to decipher the order of the story, near the end I starten to question the chronology more and more. Eventually the end shot made up for it and made my heart burst. I think I need better cultural knowledge to appreciate it better but even from an outside perspective the film's way to show the political history and its effect on the family, paired with the queer aspect made a great impact on me.

Quiet Life 2024
The quiet and kafka-esque style perfectly reflects the cold and harsh reality of life as asylum seekers in sweden. Just like the mechanic buraucracy each picture is carefully thought out with the actors moving perfectly timed and their positions well laid out. Making the story in the style of an old dystopia serves the absurdity of the inhumane migration process.
