Tackles some very serious matters, like rape, murder and racism. Gives off really strong “To Kill a Mockingbird” vibes. Makes you think about how depraved humanity can be. I wonder why everyone was sweaty because of the temperature besides Sandra Bullock. Even if it’s not an action movie, it keeps you glued to the screen by the numerous threats they receive and all the raw racism depictions. The courtroom parts kept me on my toes. Quite shocking how it’s set in the 90s, shows that even now we still have to fix our prejudices.

Had some really beautiful and atmospheric shots. Very slow-paced, half of the time the actors looked bored. The soundtrack is very ominous and fitting. I feel like that girl with glasses didn’t have anything to do, she was just… there. I think everyone was helping Jay because they wanted to sleep with her (maybe except her sister). The ending is not very original. Yes, they beat it. Oops they didn’t. To sum up, nice slow-paced horror movie, no jump scares, the music and cinematography saved it from being boring.

I did not start this movie thinking I would see Jesus killed by a dolphin. The setting is very cool and creative, classic cyberpunk with weird technology and interesting characters. Felt a bit weird watching it after the events when it’s supposed to be the future. Only thing that took it down a bit was Reeves’ acting. Even his lines on their own were bad. Made it really difficult to sympathize with Johnny, with him acting like a jerk all the time. The internet “dimension” was very 90s, abstract and colorful.
