Zach G and RDJ have some funny scenes in this but overall a huge whiff in its overall construction. Really bad song choices, for instance, make for an uneven tone and a cokey cutting style that undercuts the comedy. Clearly influenced by Planes Trains and Automobiles but lacking its basic humanity.

The Paper 1994
First 2/3 of the film are an enjoyable peek into the inner workings of a NYC paper featuring performances from the likes of Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Randy Quaid and Robert Duvall.
