  Kaakka Muttai is pure cinema. This movie is the starting point of Tamil New Wave film making in the post modern era. Manikandan - take a bow. The film language and structure of Kaakka Muttai is just so perfect.The screenplay being linear yet multi layered, intense and dense with no flashbacks,no cheap tools to heighten the drama.To me that's first class writing.

  Lootera (2013) - Poetry in Motion - a classic. I cant express the unbridled joy I felt after watching #Lootera. The intensity gets more and more with time. Stellar performances by Sonakshi Sinha and Ranvir Singh.Thrice I watched the climax conversation between Paakhi and Varun. Sometimes less is more, beautiful too. Amit Trivedi score did not work well for me for the first 30 minutes, he slowly picked up and made my heart melt towards the end especially the notes…
