  I honestly don’t understand the overwhelmingly positive reviews of this movie. Yes, the Spiderverse-inspired animation style works really well, but the movie has completely lost the cat-loving charm of the original. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. The movie seems to poke fun at cats, instead of idolising them, with the cliché “crazy cat lady” trope. It’s also lost most of the “cat humour” that the first film had.   I fucking hated every single second that I was sat down in the cinema for this movie. I was disgusted that I had paid even a single cent to see that abomination of a film. I understand it’s for children, but the complete lack of soul was too prominent to ignore. Completely unoriginal and uninteresting. Plot elements and character tropes/design unabashedly stolen from Incredibles. 

  I stood up and left when they started singing.

  Also Valentina modern icon she did nothing wrong. Half star was for her and her alone.
