If this is about a sentient sexbot escaping a toxic relationship by turning herself into a T-X, then it’s an enjoyable romcom. If it’s meant as sarcasm about misogyny or a critique of AI in general, then it falls short as thought-provoking sci-fi.

This is absolutely powerful and forlorn. While the TV series leans more toward comedy, the monodrama featuring only Phoebe Waller-Bridge captures the true essence of Fleabag, something I hadn’t fully understood while watching the show. The sudden confession she makes in front of her father’s house, calling out her deep loneliness while completely wasted; the surprising twist in Boo’s fate… it’s just a masterclass in both scripting and acting.

PS I know she’s an incredible writer and producer, but god plz let her do more acting.

This underdog high school basketball film takes a refreshing angle by focusing on a second-team player’s journey through grief, growth, and rising to the occasion after the unexpected death of the star player. The film thoughtfully addresses real-life Indigenous issues and portrays the various ways the community grapples with their loss, adding depth and relevance to the story. Despite its promising start, the second half slips into cliché, with an overly idealistic ending where they win the final game, which feels like a predictable eucatastrophe.

“No I have stage 3 ovarian cancer.”

Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh deliver exquisite performances in this film that explores recovery, acceptance, and embracing life’s losses. The flashbacks are thoughtfully woven in, building the characters piece by piece, revealing the reasons behind their views on marriage, parenthood or as an individual in general. I’ve always fond of stories that capture the intricacies of mundane life, managing to feel both exciting and terrifying, with moments of anger…
