I find it very interesting the relationship this film paints between the puppet and the puppeteer. Everyone who enters John Malkovich seems to become infatuated with the idea of becoming him, for one reason or another. Everyone seems to long to be something they are not and it gives them a strange sense of comfort. It makes me wonder how much truth there is to that.
